How to clean leather couches

An elegant piece in any home, leather sofa has no rival in the furniture category. But as distinguished as it is, as difficult to maintain is, so its appearance may deteriorate more quickly than you think.

How to clean leather couches: the basic steps for any problem

Leather sofas should be cleaned monthly or at least once every 5-6 months if you do not spend too much time in the house. Follow the instructions below:

1. Vacuum the leather couch

Vacuum the entire sofa surface and insist in areas that collect dust.

2. Use a homemade solution

Mix white vinegar and water in equal amounts. Soak a cloth in this solution and clean the problem areas.
Also, you can replace vinegar with a moisturizing soap that does not dry the material. Rub in places where you noticed dirt stains, and finally, make sure you remove any traces of soap from the material.

3. Dry your leather furniture piece

If you are considering using a hair dryer to dry the leather piece of furniture, it is not a good idea. It can dehydrate the leather and this will lead to its deterioration. The best solution is to use a dry towel, preferably one made of a material that does not produce lint balls.

4. Give a little gloss to your couch (optional step)

If you don’t know how to clean leather couches when you want to give them a little glitter, use this natural solution. Of course, you can also use commercial products, but you must have in mind that they have more chemicals in their composition.

To make this solution, mix equal amounts of white vinegar and linseed oil. Use a soft cloth and apply the solution on the couch, gentle and with circular movements. After that, let it overnight to take effect. The next day clean the couch with a cloth to remove excess oil and to give natural luster appearance.
