Get Rid Of Electric Kettle Hard Water Build-Up With 2 Effective Methods

Because I love coffee in the morning and because I need it fast, I am always using my electric kettle. It has become quite popular lately and I am really thankful for it. It is useful and boils the water faster than a stove kettle will. However, after using it quite a lot, I noticed how I overlooked it when it comes to cleaning. I would have never thought that it needs the same cleaning attention just as other home appliances. Not to mention, the hard water is all around my area, so it had taken a toll on my electric kettle. Thus, if you face the same issues with your appliance, keep reading. You will see that you can get rid of electric kettle gunky buildup in no time with only 2 effective also natural methods.

That gunky buildup is the one that caught my attention because it made the electric kettle look very dirty. And I did not want my coffee spoiled in the morning, I am always thinking I should start the day with a smile. Hence, I took the necessary steps in cleaning the electric kettle.

Here you have them, the 2 methods to clean your electric kettle efficiently!

1. Vinegar Method

The first method consists of vinegar because I find it to be perfect for cleaning anything. Thus, all you have to do is fill your electric kettle with 1/2 to 3/4 equal parts water and white vinegar. Then, start the kettle to boil this mixture and when it is ready, turn it off. Let the solution in the kettle for 30 minutes to do its thing and then get rid of the water and vinegar.

2. Citric Acid Method

The second method I am always using after the first one for a heavier cleaning is with citric acid. Thus, fill your electric kettle halfway with water, and bring it to a boil. Then, turn it off and add 1 – 2 tablespoons of citric acid powder to the water. Let the mixture sit in the kettle for 30 minutes and rinse it.

That’s all. However, if you find your electric to still have some stubborn spots, you can try to scrub it off using a soft scrubber pad. Hence, you can gently scrub the inside of the kettle, but make sure you rinse it well with fresh water.
